When looking for the perfect home, about three years ago, Charon and El researched and personally visited many communities in and around the Athens area. They were charmed and captivated by the entire Georgia Club community, the residents, and the homes.

They were especially impressed with the floor plan and beauty of the Taunton, a new home in the final stages of construction, and located in the Oconee Springs neighborhood. The open floor plan seemed to be perfect for entertaining friends and family, and having a second bedroom on the main level provided the home office space preferred by many of today’s homeowners. Charon was able to become involved in the final stages of planning the beautiful kitchen and was able to make it her “own” by upgrading some of the appliances, adding a lovely decorator vent hood and special corbels to the large kitchen bar. Another appealing feature of the home is that overnight guests can be made welcome and comfortable in the two upper level bedrooms, each with private bath. Outdoor living on the large, covered back porch is made even more appealing and relaxing by the bubbling sounds of water emanating from the outdoor fountain. El and Charon were also pleased to learn that getting to the Club for lunch or dinner is easily accommodated by driving their golf cart through the underground pedestrian tunnel and along the cart path that leads to the Club. They also appreciated that the location of the home is near the front of the neighborhood and just a short stroll to the Post Office for mail retrieval. It did not take long for El and Charon to decide that they had found their next home, and realize that the Taunton, with four bedrooms and four baths, was perfect for them.
